Actually, I already post the message under a different thread, but this is the new thread for this message.
hello world. don't forget to help and pray for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Donate anything you can give. Everything is going so great with my sorority, my frat brothers (Alpha Phi Alpha) and other groups that are helping. I also want to thank my mayor (my frat brother and he likes BB, too) for helping the victims and giving them a home in the motor city. i'm feeling excellent today. give hope to the victims because you care, NOT TO BENEFIT YOURSELF, WHICH IS SELFISH.sssssssssssssssssskkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeeeee wwwwwwwwwweeeeeee (just in case you were wondering, that's my soror call. HEHE)

My granny finally heard from my Aunt who lives in Mississippi.
She was able to finally get through on a cell phone.
They still have no running water or electricity.
Hopefully by tomorrow the electric will be back on.
Keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers!!

I know it is tough to understand why it may have taken so long for rescue efforts to arrive for the victims of the hurricane. We may or may not ever know the answers.
I just want to point out that one rule here is that we do not have political discussions.
Some subjects are just not appropriate to discuss here in a family forum.
Have a good day everyone! :D

May I also add a word about the victims of the terrible events in Kashmir and Pakistan?
I have every sympathy for the victims of this dreadful earthquake season. There may well be discussion about how quickly help arrived and how well it was organized. This is for some other forum, not here.
However, there is no doubt that the USA will get help to its own distressed citizens, and to those countries in its own backyard (for example Mexico) that have suffered a common calamity. The USA is a great, powerful, rich and generous nation.
However, when the first instinct is (quite rightly) to look after your own, it is easy to forget others. North Pakistan and Kashmir do not have the infrastructure of Florida, Louisianna or Texas - or even Mexico. In this remote roof of the world the incoming winter is severe even by Alaskan standards. People are freezing. People are starving. People (very many of them children) are dying.
This area needs help from everyone that can give it. There are so many disasters, so many causes, that it is easy to develop donation fatigue, easy to say you will donate to your own people, and this is enough. You can even justify this morally.
Please don't. Without assistance from the richest and most generous nation in the world, things will get much, much worse.
Please help.

I just heard on the radio that Faith Hill and Tim Mc Graw are doing a concert in New Orleans and the net profit is going to benefit the area. That's good news!!
