For everyone's information the statue is from the cartoon Betty Boop's Ups and Downs (1932). Betty used the pose 20 years before Marilyn Monroe in the Seven Year Itch.

Hi Michael, Where is King Features in Manhattan? If it is are you allowed to visit & look around? Do they have a store that you can purchase things? Let me know because I will go. Talk to you soon Gina :)
King Features is located on the West side near the Brooklyn Diner & Hard Rock Cafe on 57th Street. However, it's more of an office environment than an open consumer-type place. We'd moved here in 2001 and it's a bit tight. In our previous location, Betty Boop products were display in glass cases in the lobby and one room showcased Betty Boop and other licensed products. We don't have a store.

Marilyn probably thought she was first too. Certainly it was Marilyn Monroe who made it famous.

However, Betty was the original. With Marilyn it was hot air through a subway grating.

Betty's situation was much more bizarre. The Earth had been repossesed due to the depression and Saturn had purchased it from the Moon and was messing about with gravity. So Betty and the grating she was standing on flew up into the air. Saturn put gravity back to normal, so down came grating, Betty and all. And of course the wind from the descent whistled through the grating and up went the Boop dress.

Surreal or what?

That is true bikerbetty, over here I saw one in Marshalls for $200. it was awesome I loved just looking at her, she was 5 ft. tall...I found a site that sells those statues too here it is ....their warehouse is in Texas;)

Okay, come on; now that is FLAWLESS!!! That is one of Betty's signature poses, and it's lifesize!!? Now that is one priceless statue. I would love to travel there and see it in person. It's very beautiful.
