I eat meat...very little. Not converted to a total vegetarian.

You go you...BBooper!

You can keep your weight down tremendously --without the intake of meat.
I eat very little meat. I have held around 130-138 for years.

a vegan is someone who doesn't eat or wearing anything to do with animals. for example, they don't eat dairy products or food that contains dairy products, they don't eat eggs and they don't wear leather, wool or suade!

My sis in law is a vegan, she has 4 boys whom she is bringing up as vegan as well. They live on veggies and vitamin & mineral supplements, personally i don't agree with that.I think kids should be given a balanced diet(including meat products)until they are old enough to make their own lifestyle choices. After all the human body has evolved over millions of years to be omnivorous,we have cutting AND chewing teeth and long and short intestines. We are designed to eat meat, like it or not.

She is so strict about it that she once gave me a shellacking for giving my nephew a Tuna sandwich. It is not (in my humble opinion) right to have kids go "YUKK!" at the mere mention of meat when they have never eaten it.They believe that anyone who does is disgusting, the whole thing smacks of brainwashing and moral discrimination to me.If the kids reach adulthood and then decide they want to be vegetarian, then that's fine. But i don't agree with it being imposed on them. I am an animal lover myself but who am i to upset the delicate balance of nature and evolution. Try getting a Tiger to eat a parsnip rather than a steak...... If you can i may change my mind ;)

i don't agree with raising kids as vegans or veggie's either. i think that it's their own choice which they should make when they feel they might want to become a vegan/veggie!.

look's like i'm on my own! :P lol! it's quite interesting to see though! :D

My ancestors did not claw their way to the top of the food chain, only for me to graze on cabbage :D

Seriously, the vegitarian issue is one we should be aware of. If population trends continue, our children or grandchildren may need to be vegitarian. If protein is scarce, it makes no economic sense to feed it to animals and then eat the animals. It's more efficient to eat it directly.

Therefore, not for any moral reasons, but from sheer necessity, the human race may become vegitarian. This raises huge moral issues. What do we do with the animals? Today, some animals are treated very badly in factory farms. Others are raised carefully and have comparatively good life - until the day comes that they are killed for food.

However if we are vegitarian, animals are no longer our food - they are our rivals. History shows that however badly we humans treat our food sources, our rival species are treated far, far worse.

What do we do with cats and dogs, which are natural meat eaters and don't have the digestive systems of omnivores or plant eaters?

What do we do with animals such as the domestic cow, which have been bred artificially so that they are adapted to our purposes, and cannot now survive (and would die in considerable distress) without human intervention.

These issues need to be addressed now. They are not helped by anyone taking a high moral stance. Some of us choose to be vegitarian, some do not. That's a lifestyle choice. It's not necessarily a moral choice - the latest research seems to indicate that plants have some concept of pain, and plants can't run away.

We need to plan for when we all have to be vegitarian.

Linda McCartney, born Linda Eastman, died of ****** cancer in 1998. She was a well regarded artist. Her abilities as a musician are more debatable. She was a dedicated vegetarian.

I eat a balanced diet. I eat meat but in small quantities. I've cut down on red meat and eat a lot of chicken and am eating more fish. I do eat a lot of vegetables. I try to limit the starches.

Human beings are omnivorous by nature... this means that we naturally eat many different types of food including meat and vegetables. There are a number of important nutrients we get from meat that we can't get in any other food that we need. The only way to get them is to take lots of supplements. Any vegans or vegetarians out there who are not taking complete supplements are failing to get certain vitamins and amino acids their bodies need. Although vegetarians claim that their diets are more healthy, in reality they are more prone to getting diseases like cancer and statistically they don't live as long as meat eaters.

So, although it is noble to save the livestock used for food and eat only plant life, it is healthier to eat a variety of foods including meat. I do have the opinion that the quantity of meat consumed should be limited, however....
