My grandma emailed me this. I wanted to share. You all be carefull out there.

Lisa

THIS IS TRUE

NOTE: Sgt. Krueger was called to verify that he had sent this. He did.
He had received it from another law enforcement agency.
He said, "So far, no police reports like this on the NW side of Indy
have been filed, but it did happen on the NE side."
Please be careful out there! And spread the word!

This happened on the NE side of Indy

A friend stopped at a pay-at-the-pump gas station to get gas. Once she
filled her gas tank and after paying at the pump and starting to leave,
the voice of the attendant inside came over the speaker. He told her
that something happened with her card and that she needed to come inside
to pay. The lady was confused because the transaction showed complete
and approved. She relayed that to him and was getting ready to leave but
the attendant, once again, urged her to come in to pay or there'd be
trouble.

She proceeded to go inside and started arguing with the attendant about
his threat. He told her to calm down and listen carefully: He said that
while she was pumping gas, a guy slipped into the back seat of her car
on the other side and the attendant had already called the police. She
became frightened and looked out in time to see her car door open and
the guy slip out.

The report is that the new gang initiation thing is to bring back a
woman and/or her car. One way they are doing this is crawling under
women's cars while they're pumping gas or at grocery stores in the
nighttime. The other way is slipping into unattended cars and kidnapping
the women. Please pass this on to other women, young and old alike. Be
extra careful going to and from your car at night. If at all possible,
don't go alone! This is real!!

Message:
1)ALWAYS lock your car doors, ! even if you're gone for just a second!
2)Check underneath your car when approaching it for reentry, and
! check in the back before getting in.
3)Always be aware of your surroundings and of other individuals in your
general vicinity, particularly at night!! Send this to
everyone so your friends can take precaution.

AND GUYS...TELL ANY WOMEN YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS
THIS IS TOO SERIOUS..

Are you trying to say you think I am A person promoting something undesirable or discreditable???? Cause that is what mongering means. I do not think that is very nice.

Like I said ... I did not know this was a Hoax. I was just sharing information. Why must you think I am someone I am not???

I though you were my friend?? I did not think friends said that kind of stuff about their friends??

It was NOT directed at you if you will read comprehensively.

Candlesnboop > No one is seriously getting on your case. I'm 1000% sure st nurse boop and Neckless meant "scare mongering" in jest. They probably should've followed their comment with LOL or J/K, but in many of the forums that I go to, senior members tease each other and there are never any problems with the way it's interpreted. Lighten up. Even my posting of it being a hoax was not directed towards you in any negative way. I was just pointing it out matter-of-factly.

Claim: The youngest mother on record was a five-year-old Peruvian girl.

Status: True.

Origins: Although we can see a tremendous amount of variety in the plant and animal life all around us — both within and between species — many of us still find extremes in variety among human beings somewhat disconcerting. While an extraordinarily large dog or a cat with an unusually long tail may be regarded as nothing more than a momentarily interesting curiosity or a source of amusement, people who exhibit one of the extremes in human development — whether it be in intelligence, height, weight, or some other feature — have long struggled to avoid being identified as "

Perhaps the most discomfiting record of this nature involves the youngest person ever to give birth, reputedly a five-year-old girl — not only because such a record posits that a child barely of kindergarten age (presumably involuntarily) underwent an experience we associate with physical and psychological maturity, but also because it implies the commission of an act now considered to be nothing less than child molestation.

Regardless of our squeamishness, we have to note that the claim of a five-year-old girl giving birth is apparently true. Lina, a Peruvian girl from the Andean village of Ticrapo who made medical history when she gave birth to a boy by caesarean section in May 1939 at the age of five years, seven months and 21 days. Lina's parents initially thought their daughter had a large abdominal tumor, but after they took her to a hospital in the town of Pisco physicians confirmed that her abdominal swelling was due to pregnancy. Linda was eventually transferred to a hospital in Lima, where she delivered a six-pound baby boy by C- section on 14 May 1939 (coincidentally the date on which Mother's Day was celebrated that year). Lina's father was temporarily jailed on suspicion of incest, but he was released for a lack of evidence and authorities were never able to determine who fathered Lina's child.

Oddly Enough this is TRUE!!!

Never known that to happen at age 5.

What article did this information come from? It was such a long time ago...I wonder if there is any accuracy to it!?!?

WHo is Charlie Chaplin?

Candlesnboop
05-14-2005, 05:32 PM
Who was Charlie Chaplin?
For the purpose of this study, I will use the terminology that many film historians have: that Charlie is the filmic alter ego of Charles Chaplin, filmmaker. And Charlie Chaplin, under that name, and under such nom-de-plumes as "the eternal tramp," "the tramp philosopher," and so on, has risen to fame as an icon alone. Unlike the characters played by many actors over the years, Charles Chaplin's Tramp was a consistent character who grew in depth and complexity over the years to become a powerful icon and symbol. While Chaplin himself was, of course, prominent on the world scene as well, he was less the being celebrated, when folk spoke his name, than his icon was: the iconic stature really belonged to his far more prominent filmic creation, for better or worse. Some knew the man and his foibles, but if so, they viewed them through the veneer of Charlie the Tramp: the blessing of the Tramp to cinema excused his creator's iniquities, while on the other hand, the Tramp at times formed a constricting device that manipulated what others expected to find in the man. And of course, at times man and icon spoke as one.

Charles Chaplin's parents, Charles and Hannah Chaplin, were music hall entertainers. His first stage appearance, at age five, was singing a song in place of his mother who had become ill. At eight he toured in a musical, "The Eight Lancaster Lads". Nearly 11, he appeared in "Giddy Ostende" at London's Hippodrome. From age 17 to 24 he was with Fred Karno's English vaudeville troupe, which brought him to New York in 1910, aged 21. In November of 1913 he signed a contract with Mack Sennett at Keystone and left for Hollywood the next month. His first movie, Making a Living (1914), premiered in February of 1914. He made 35 films that year, moved to Essanay in 1915 and did 14 more, then jumped over to Mutual for 12 two-reelers in 1916 and 19177. In 1918 he joined First National (later absorbed by Warner Bros.) and in 1919 formed United Artists along with Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and D.W. Griffith. His first full-length film was The Kid (1921); his first for UA, which he produced and directed himself, was A Woman of Paris (1923). In 1929 he won a special award "for versatility and genius in writing, acting, directing and producing The Circus (1928) at the first Oscar awards. In 1943 he was accused of fathering a child; the papers made much of the scandal, but he was proven in a court trial not to be the father. The same year he entered his fourth marriage, to Oona Chaplin, daughter of playwright Eugene O'Neill. They had eight children. Tired of political and moralistic controversies and plagued with tax problems, he left the United States for Switzerland in 1952. He published his memoirs in 1964. In 1972 he returned to Hollywood to claim a special Oscar honoring his lifetime contributions to movies. He was named Knight Commander of the British Empire in 1975. He died in his sleep from old age.

Some people are more tolerant of pain than others. My father-in-law is one of those people who doesn't need anesthesia when he's undergoing dental surgery... it's almost unbelieveable the pain that some people can tolerate that other people would faint from!
