Doll Quilt

I'm new so if I boo-boo please forgive. I have a BB doll quilt 15"L x 11-1/2" w circa early 1930's. BB is featured in the center of the quilt red hair, dress on blue background, with a print red & blue border 2-3/4" wide. I have had this in my possession since I was a child so that is approximately 70 years. Anyone have any idea as to the dollar value if any? Thanks. Allie

Hi Allie,
Welcome, and what a treasure to have in your family all these years. Those doll quilts are fairly hard to find, and yours is probably in very good condition. It was made by Jaymar, NYC, in the early 1930s. They typically go for anwhere from $100-$300.

You could find a collector shop that may appraise that for you.

Sounds like a beauty! You are best to find someone to value it and the best place to start is a quilt shop or quilt group! Generally they will know where and who to got to for that type of thing!!
Look in your local directory and see what you can find.

I've seen a few Betty Boop quilts on eBay... all are handcrafted and one of a kind. I've not seen any Betty quilts that are officially licensed by King Features though.

Is it illegal for the people to make a BB quilt and sell it on ebay?

As far as I know it's illegal to make anything with Betty Boop and sell them on eBay or anywhere for that matter but that hasn't stopped some rather unscrupulous people in the past.

Someone else asked a similar question and MGCHAN replied that it's not legal to sell Betty Boop products that are handmade unless they are licensed by King Features.
