Hi

If I access the discussions forums on a coputer running the Netscape Navigator browser the page loads and then I get bounced to the main page. I don't have the same problem with Internet Explorer.

Has anyone else experienced this?

You shouldn't have any problem with the forums, it's not running any special coding. I suspect the problem is with Netscape.

Try using Firefox from www.mozilla.org

Firefox works fine for me. I would recommend it over IE any day :D

Yep, looks like something in Netscape.

Pity, I have this old Win95 PC that I use to browse the Internet. I'm not about to scrap it because it hasn't broken down once in ten years.

Some sites I can't get to because they need 128 bit security, but other than that everything works fine. I've never experienced being bounced straight back to a home page before.

Oh well, I'll use IE :(

No wonder Mr Gates is rich!

Any computer nerd would recommend Firefox Mozilla instead of Netscape or Internet Explorer.

First hand advice from my computer nerd husband.

Your husband doesn't sound like a nerd... he sounds "knowledgeable"!!! Please tell him thanks for sharing that info!!

My husband is a computer wiz too (I prefer "wiz" to "nerd") and he tries to show me a lot of stuff on the computer but to me .. it's just a glorified typewriter and all the other stuff is confusing... LOL!!

Thanks for sharing and being a good student and then teacher to us here on the forum!!

You see T, my hubby is very very easy to get along with and we tease each other a lot and of course he calls me silly names, but when he does I call him a Geek, Nerd, dork, so any way he knows I love him but still knows he is a dork!!!!:D:D:D

At the risk of sounding arrogant I know a tiny bit about computers myself.
My first book was published in 1982, and I've written 15 since, mainly for Coriolis and Microsoft Press.

My little Win95 P90 was top of the range 9 years ago. It has never even looked like breaking down. I said to my wife a year ago that it was long in the tooth and it needed replaced.

She said, don't you dare!! If she needs a reliable print server she'll use my little P90. Her own PC is about 20 times as fast and has 10 times more memory and 100 times more disk space.

I have about 10MB disk space free on my P90. This is a lot by the standards of 1996. It isn't enough to download other browsers.

So I can't access this site. C'est la vie.
