Now this is just my thoughts,I'm not trying to make anybody agree with me. No One has to change their minds or their personal beliefs.......I just want to speak about the fact that Tomorrow The United States will make HISTORY as Barack Obama is sworn in as THE 44th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. I have to say I am PROUD to be a AMERICAN and to be a part of Our Country during this time of CHANGE. I think the future of this country is going to be much improved under this New Administration. During his campaign Barack Obama made me feel that Change was a real possibility and so I VOTED for the Best Canidate....But these are just my personal thoughts about Our Country, Our President and Our Future.....Personally I will be watching the coverage as President Barack Obama is Officially Sworn In, This is a GREAT MOMENT in History and my 1 little vote helped to make it happen..I'm so proud....................:D :D

You should be!

Thank You lowellahoward :D I'm just so excited about this election and the way it turned out...I've only voted in 1 other Presidental election and I really had no idea what was going on, I didn't know the issues and had no idea who was the best person for the job..I just voted for whoever was not the Republician(I don't even remember who ran agianst Bush. That's pitiful ).. When the campaign started for this election I made up my mind I would know what was being said! Everyone kept asking me who I was going to vote for and I wasn't sure right away because I liked both Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton so I said I'd have to wait and see who got the nomination...Then when Obama got it I really started paying attention !! Well the more he talked the more impressed I became,Here was a man talking about CHANGE and it sounded like he might know how to make that CHANGE happen and LORD knows this country needs some CHANGE real bad. And then I thought about McCain and I felt he would just follow the path that Bush had made, He seemed like a YES man to me and I didn't feel that we needed more of the same. So I decided to vote for Barack Obama and hope that the CHANGE he talked about would actually happen for Our Country and Her People....So now after today we'll see what happens..........I know I "TALK" alot :o :o :o I really don't mean to but sometimes I get caught up in my thoughts and I just gotta "speak" about them !!!!! Sorry bout that ya'll :o :o :o

I'm just so excited about this whole thing and I'm afraid people will think I'm up on my soap-box, ya know? And it's not that it's the fact that for the 1st time probably since Kennedy we've put a man in the White House who really LOVES this Country and Her People and wants to FIX what's wrong so that WE CAN HAVE A BETTER COUNTRY with a strong economy, more jobs, better schools, better public officials,Maybe even end this WAR that Bush got us into based on a lie about WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION that DID NOT EVEN EXISIST in the first place cause if they did seems like we would have found them !!! Put congress on notice and make them toe the line,CHANGE THAT"S WHAT HE PROMISED and I think he'll deliver :) I'm glad that others who voted for President Obama are responding to my thread which " Has NOTHING To Do With Betty Boop " :D :D :D And I Thank You for your POSITIVE Feedback... I know there will probably be some who do not agree with me and that is very OK everyone is intitled to their point of view we live in The United States Of America and we are free to think and feel the way we want because this is a FREE COUNTRY and WE ARE FREE PEOPLE :D :D ...God Bless America Land Of The Free Home Of The Brave............OK I'M DONE NOW :D

Hmm... well personally I don't know that we should talk about politics here.

But since someone else started this topic, I will make my comment:

I am not watching the inauguration and I am not really interested in it at all. I can't believe how much money is being spent on this affair. I've heard between $125 and $150 MILLION dollars! That is a lot of money for a lot of hoopla!

It's too bad that the CHANGE that he promised didn't actually begin today.

This new president could have made the change that not so much money would be spent on this affair. He had control over that decision but he has chosen to go ahead and celebrate today to the tune of 150 million $$.

So how is that a "change" from the previous presidents?

With the extremely difficult times that our nation is facing, it just seems absurd to me that this kind of money is actually being spent for what? A party????????

booper looper

Been Used Elsewhere, But President Obama is not the first President to lavishly spend on Inauguration Day and I'm sure he won't be the last.....I still believe that President Obama will make a differance in our country's present situation. And money with be used where it will do the most good to improve the United States.........We'll all see in the coming year what Obama will or won't do to make Change happen or not....................:D :D

Don't get me wrong, I am really praying for him to be successful.

And I too am hopeful that we will see some change.

I think the American people have had enough with the past "politics as usual". I think we're in this dire situation in our country because of the errors made by several past presidents and congressional leaders, all of whom could have made a difference but chose not to because it would have meant going against the grain.

It's very sad to me that a country as strong as ours once was has declined so drastically in the past 20 or so years. It's sad for me to continue to watch the bad things happen to us.

It's going to take a lot for "change" to come. I just hope that "change" doesn't mean worse things are in store for us than what we have already experienced.

Work on the part of President Obama,Congress,The Senate and the People of this Country........CHANGE is possible but the road to achieving that CHANGE is going to be a long hard one...It took time for our country to get as messed up as it is,and I agree some of the people that were in charge made some really bad mistakes and we are in one heck of a postion as far as our economy and the job situation across the country is. BikerBetty is right about the mess that has been made but I think given time and cooperation from Congress and the Senate President Obama has a good chance of bringing about the CHANGE that he talked about.......It's just not going to be a quick or easy feat for him.....

President Obama has been doing, almost everything is being reported on the news. I try to catch the reports because I want to know what steps the President is taking and if possible why...So far it looks like he's finding his way. And he seems to be dealing with the Washington folks OK..It's a beginning anyway so I'm gonna keep watching and hopefully he will be able to bring about the CHANGE that he promised as time goes by.........I'm praying for him and also for the United States and her People and of course for CHANGE......................

One man (the president) can't make things better in our country all by himself. It's going to take all of congress, all of industry and the economy and all of our citizens for that to happen.

I don't think it's nice to call him a bum.

Like him or not...

I didn't like the Bush Bashers and I'm not in favor of Obama Bashing either.

hmmm.... I'm not sold on the idea of the big stimulus packages... spending and spending and more spending has not helped... nor do I believe it is going to help our economy or financial situation here. All that money has to come from taxpayers eventually.

I'm going to a tea party tomorrow night in Prescott. Going to be a protestor for the first time since the 1970's!!

Prescott will join "tea party" events across the nation today 4/15/09, the same day income taxes are due.

Speakers will include Secretary of State Ken Bennett of Prescott, Goldwater Institute Chief Economist Byron Schlomach and Yavapai College Professor Terry Lovell.

I didn't vote for either of them. I have not seen any president really make the economy better. I live in a small town here but it used to be a good place to come visit and live b/c of the jobs. You go through town now and every manufacturing bussniess has shut down. My husband says that it is b/c everything is being done cheaper else where and that may be right but cheaper dosen't mean it will be a good product. I watched a Doc. on TV about Wal-Mart and how they run there manufactuing plants and they should be ashmed of themselfs making people work for 3 dollars a day and making them work 7 days a week and hiding the fact that they are doing this. I hope that we will see a change here we need it and I hope that we will be able to come back from some of the heart ache and finacial problems that all of us as americans are having but we have to come together to get through this time weither we voted for him or not. I hope that everyone will see the things that he is saying that he will do. I think that this is something that I don't want to talk much about, not b/c of the people it's just that it can get nasty talking about who you voted for and why you voted for that person and I don't want to see anyone on here hurt b/c of something that someone says on here. So people be careful of what you say to friends.
