How Betty Started

Betty Boop started her film career as a dog character, primarily as the love interest of a dog named Bimbo, she was designed by Fleischer Studio and amimator Grim Natwick. As it did not take long for Betty to surpass Bimbo in popularity she stareted to go thru the transformation, losing her dog characteristics and becoming the cute and Sexy Boop. Her body was modeled after Mae West's and her voice was dont my Mae Questa.

Betty's first appearance as a human female was in "Kitty From Kansas City" Other characters who starred with Betty were Grampy, the eccentric inventor, Koko, the clown and Pudgy, Betty's little dog. All together there were 111 Betty Boop Cartoons produced between 1930 and 1939! :)

i got that from a christmas present my mom got me, its a really cute pic of her in a frame, with a smaller pic at the bottom, and then a little article about her, i keep it in my bathroom next to my betty boop rubber duck, which is really hot ;)

Hey Fellow Boopers!!
I also have a pic of bb when she was the dog. Its in my comic book that I found years ago. I'll look it up when I go to pack bb up. The only thing now that bb has left from her dog days are her earrings. They are to symbolized the dogs "ears", go figure?

the duck is definitly one of my favs, but i also purchased a set of bb nesting dolls on ebay and they are the best, its so cool cause there are alot of dolls inside of eachother, and just when you think the last one is so small it opens up and its the dog and its like the size of a pinkie nail....so cute ;)

She is cute as a rubber duck... I hope Betty can share that photo from the comic book with us when she comes back again. That would be cool to see.
