We had a Super bowl party and we were all rooting for the Eagles too. Was sad to see them lose but they gave it a good try. Too bad they didn't win... maybe next year!!

I am a huge Patriots fan. ( Season ticket holder ) The Patriots had a great season - regular season 14 wins 2 losses - They set an NFL record with 21 consecutive wins ( including last years playoffs and Super Bowl victory )
Led by QB Tom Brady - running back Corey Dillon - a great offensive line and a great defense ( Tedy Bruschi - Richard Seymour - and Ty Law - who missed the last three months of the season )
The back to back Super Bowl titles give the Patriots three wins in four years. The only other team to do that is the Troy Aikman - Emmitt Smith - Michael Irvin era Dallas Cowboys. ( The Steelers were pretty good too - four titles in six years ) Las Vegas came out with the odds for next years Super Bowl. The Patriots the top team for next year.
A win next year would be the first time that a team has won back to back to back Super Bowls.
The Packers did win back to back to back NFL Titles in 1965 - 1966 and 1967. They did not win three consecutive Super Bowls since they did not face the 1965 AFL Champ Buffalo Bills. The 1966 team beat the Chiefs in the first NFL AFL Champion game ( The Super Bowl was not an official name yet and the Roman Numerals were not attached ) The 1967 team beat the Oakland Raiders in the second AFL NFL Championship game. The Colts ended the Packers winning Streak in the 1968 Season, but as you recall, Joe Namath and the Jets beat the Colts on Jan 12 1969.

Everyone in New England is rooting for Tedy Bruschi to make a full recovery. He had a mild stroke and was brought to Mass General Hospital. They confirmed the reports that it was a stroke. He is one of the most popular Patriot players.

Oh my I am so sorry to hear that!! I hope he recovers fully from the stroke... that's terrible news.
Did you know that the Patriots quarterback went to Michigan? I'm from Ohio and a huge OSU fan and I know that you know about their rivalry?

Patriot fans are well aware that Tom Brady played for the Michigan Wolverines. Did you know that his teammate at Michigan - competitor for starting QB posistion Drew Henson passed on the NFL to try his hand at baseball. He signed a contract with the Yankees but only made it to the Major Leagues for a cup of coffee. He is back playing football as backup QB for the Dallas Cowboys.
Patriot Linebacker Mike Vrabel is a Buckeye from Ohio State. The second superbowl in a row he was put in at tight end when the ball was on the two yard line. He ended up with a touchdown, just as he did last year. He now has five career catches as a tight end. All five have been touchdowns ( It makes sense since they only use him when they are at the goal line.

Hey Thanks for the info ... I couldn't remember Tom Brady's name until you posted it here. He's really an excellent quarterback and he sure gave OSU a rough time when he was at Michigan. Glad to see he is doing so well with the Patriots. I'm sure he's a nice guy even though he was a rival of ours... LOL!!
I'm going to share this info with my husband. Thanks again!!
