Hello Boopman,I have a copy of your definitive guide and if i could refer you to page 136,1932 wooden christmas ornament,the one i have is dated 1931,does this mean mine could be fake? It appears to be exactly alike aside from the date.If you could shed some light on the matter i would be very grateful.

Hello Scot,
Great question.... it is unlikely that someone created a fake piece, it just takes too much time and effort. Many of these ornaments do not have a date stamped on the bottom of the foot, so it could be that someone did add that, just to record what they thought was a correct date.
Problem is, no one knows for sure exactly what the process was for producing these ornaments. The box they came in has no date, some ornaments are marked 1932, some have no marking, and you have one marked 1931. We do have advertisements for these ornaments from 1932, so the assumption is that is when they were made.
Just curious as to whether you acquired this recently, or have had it for some time?
Hope this helps.

Hello Boopman,thanks for the quick response.I bought the piece around 6 months ago on e Bay so have no idea of it's history.I did think it would be unlikely to be fake for the very reasons you mentioned.On the base of the right foot it is stamped "Made in usa,copyright mark,1931".Sorry i can't tell you more about it but i thank you for your help.

Kind regards scotbooper

Hello Boopman;
I was wondering if you had a guide of some kind on some of the bb that I may have. I'm really interested in what my collection might be worth before I pack her all up.
Again Booping,
Betty

Hi Betty,
Well, you could pick up my book "The Definitive Guide to Betty Boop Memorabilia" and that would give you some idea. However, it only has around 300 items listed, so, depending on what you have, it may or may not be listed. Alternatively, you could purchase the original manuscript that has over 3,000 items listed (but no pictures), or better yet, get both. The book you can get online, the manuscript from me (or both). If you have an interest, send me a direct email at boopman2@comcast.net.

Hi Betty... this is an excellent book. I have a signed copy of this book and I have used it as a reference guide numerous times. It's well worth the investment.
