Don't be unintelligent.

Neckless this is what mgchan posted in the other thread about the reputation points. It is better to have more if you read this.
I've switched on a new option to allow members to rate the reputation of a member. By rating a member positively, that member gains points or vice versa, a negative rating will result in the removal of points.
The goal is to allow members to use their "Reputation Points" to "purchase" from a selection of Betty Boop products. Kind of like a reward system.
However, the cost of the "Reputation Points" needed to purchase the item will be deducted from the accrued "Reputation Points."
I will follow up with a more detailed explaination on how "Reputation Points" are gained. For now, here's an overview to get you started:
Default Reputation
New users receive reputation level 10 upon registration.
Register Date Factor
For every 365 number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
Post Count Factor
For every 1,000 number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
Reputation Point Factor
For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
Minimum Post Count
A User must have 50 posts have before their reputation hits count on others.
Minimum Reputation Count
A user must have 10 reputation before his reputation hits count on others.
Daily Reputation Clicks Limit
A user can give 10 reputation clicks over each 24 hour period.
Reputation User Spread
You must give 10 different users reputation before you can hit the same user again.

If everyone started off with 10 Reputation Points and Reputation Points are gained. What does that tell you? A member awarded you points. You stated before that you're a teacher...I find it hard to believe you're having a hard time understanding this.

You can't see everybody else's just yours. You can only give them points or take away points. To see yours you need to click on the icon that looks like a smoke stack, sort of.
mgchan
01-07-2005, 09:18 AM
Actually, it's a scale. Biker Babe is correct. You cannot see the other members' Reputation Points. You can only give or take away. Only you can see your own Reputation Points.
Currently there is a green colored square next to your number of posts. That's supposed to be some visual indicator of your Reputation standing. If you place your cursor over it, you'll see the description. I don't see any value in it and will look into modifying it to display your Reputation Points.

Just to have fun maybe enter a contest or 2. Since I've been able to log on again, I've been sending threads and posts back to the wonderful friends I have on here. One of them being Neckless and BettyBoopfan, Boop"n"cheeks and Bettybooper25, where everyone was so kind to wish me happy B-day on the 21st of December. My opinion on the matter is if a member needs explanation on something it should be given without any sarcasm or negativity. This bickering back and forth and saying hurtful things is really getting old. :D We are grown folks let's act like it and leave the childishness where it belongs with children. All members started with 10 Repuation Points. After 50 posts, members start with 1 Reputation Power, which is how much Reputation Points one can award.
