New Addition: Gaining Reputation Points!

I've switched on a new option to allow members to rate the reputation of a member. By rating a member positively, that member gains points or vice versa, a negative rating will result in the removal of points.

The goal is to allow members to use their "Reputation Points" to "purchase" from a selection of Betty Boop products. Kind of like a reward system.

However, the cost of the "Reputation Points" needed to purchase the item will be deducted from the accrued "Reputation Points."

I will follow up with a more detailed explaination on how "Reputation Points" are gained. For now, here's an overview to get you started:

Default Reputation
New users receive reputation level 10 upon registration.

Register Date Factor
For every 365 number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

Post Count Factor
For every 1,000 number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

Reputation Point Factor
For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

Minimum Post Count
A User must have 50 posts before their reputation hits count on others.

Minimum Reputation Count
A user must have 10 reputation before their reputation hits count on others.

Daily Reputation Clicks Limit
A user can give 10 reputation clicks over each 24 hour period.

Reputation User Spread
You must give 10 different users reputation before you can hit the same user again.

To view your Reputation Points, go to your post and click on the scales icon to the right. It's above your Join Date. By default, everyone's starts off with 10. Unfortunately it doesn't take into account of your past history on the forums. We're all starting on even grounds!

No question is dumb or silly. This reputation thing is also new for me!

Reputation Power means whenever you add/subtract to a members' reputation, the amount added or subtracted is based on a how long you've been a member and how many posts you've made. Yes, you must have Reputation Points to be able to award points. Everyone starts off with 10. If you go below 10, then you cannot award points.

For example, your (bettyboopfan) Reputation Power is 4. 1 by default and 1 for every 1,000 posts, which is 3.

Reputation Points is whenever a member awards or punishes you for your post. The more meaningful posts you make, the more likely members will reward you.

My feelings are the same...I don't ever expect to "take away" anyone's points because I just don't see any reason why that would happen. You'll go to the Reputation Points Redemption Center, browse through the BB items. See what you like and the cost in Reputation Points (RP). Request the item you want and the cost in RP will be deducted from your RP.

For example if an item costs 100 RP and you have 150 RP, 100 RP will be deducted and you'll have 50 RP left.

You don't need to always be on to get points, Candlesnboop. Just make sure you do some posting when you are on to get the points!

All of mine are green too, except one of them. I am not sure what the boxes mean but since we can't take points away from each other I don't think that is what the red box means. I am not sure the meaning of the boxes. MGCHAN can you help?

It most likely means negative Reputation Points was awarded. This probably happened before I was able to disable it.
