Amazing... simply amazing.

Where are the people who remember Betty Boop used to be an animated theatrical series and was one of the hit series of the early and mid 1930s?

Amazing, that for all the licensing and image reproduction done of the character that it isn't possible to find a single legitimately authorized DVD with remastered/restored cartoons of this iconic animated creation!

I don't mean to be a pest, but where are the animation fans here?

Sure, Betty Boop looks cute as a still image, but remember that she began life as an ANIMATED character...

One wonders if Uncle Max would be so happy to find that the general public has almost no exposure to any of his classical theatrical shorts anymore...

Yes, Georgie my boy, I agree whole heartily that an official release of Betty Boop on DVD would be a great thing. I am shocked, SHOCKED there is NOTHING official out. I am also SHOCKED that I can't start a poll in a boardroom titled POLLS. Please Betty Fans, we need this on DVD and your support in any efforts to get this to DVD will benefit the world greatly.

Collecting Betty memorabilia would be so much sweeter if we could put a voice and a movement to that name, that face. We need legitimate Betty and we need it now. Don't just ask for it. DEMAND IT!

Hi George C!! Welcome to the forum! Nice to have you aboard!

I have always felt and even said so early on that we fans need a Betty Boop animated movie. She was great in Roger Rabbit!!

That would just be a dream come true. Authorised BB cartoon on DVD. I could then just click repeat and have her on all day.

I am actually quite surprised that we can't get this - but i dont think it'll take too long.

Judging from the requests submitted here by forum members, I'd say that it's something that we all want and need.

I'd love to see it on dvd. I have almost all the betty boops in avi format thanks to newsgroups. There are like 6 that are as yet unobtainable and belive me I've been looking. To be able to get legitimate legal copies on dvd would be the cats meow!!

A DVD of Betty would really be nice, but I hope they fully remaster her cartoons and don't just transfer the Definitive collection to disc. The sound quality on the definitive collection was pretty bad in spots (Stopping the Show, for 1 example):(

I have the Definitive Collection but it's still sealed and I haven't watched any of them. Based on what you just said Chess nut, I'm hopeful that the quality will be improved if it comes out on DVD.

Welcome to the forum by the way!!

Oh, don't get me wrong, Bikerbettyboop, I love the Definitive collection since it has some Betty cartoons that you rarely see, plus they put back some footage that was censored when they first showed them on TV. It was only a couple that bothered me sound-wise. I hope you open yours and give them a look see. Especially check out 'Any Rags' and 'Betty Boop M.D.' PS. sorry to have been away from the forum so long.:)

oh BBooper.. don't think it's not licensed because it's a DVD... I think the topic is a Betty Boop collection on DVD but I don't think it means individual DVDs.

Am I wrong?

I think that, unfortunately, the only Betty Boop authorized dvd is "Biography-Betty Boop-The Queen of Cartoons" by A&E. It's an amazing docomentary and Richard Fleischer appears giving interviews. It could be longer than only 50 minutes.

I haven't seen that interview/documentary. I bet it's excellent!!
