first pet,

man im so excited im getting some hamsters today!! they are gona b my first ever pets (apart from sea monkeys that never hatched!!!! :()
u shud reaLLY c them they are so cute their called ribovoskis and are a typ of dwarf hamsters meaning they are mini!!! only growing to about 4-5cm TINY!!!
i shud b piking them up today but it depends on if i can find a cage for them in time, also i havent decided if i want 2 or 3, i guess il decide at the time!

I raised hampsters some years ago. They're cuddly and cute. I think they were called bear hampsters. Thick coating and soft-soft-soft.
The birth rate is tremendous. Watch it! I had a mixed ensemble. BIGGEST mistake ever.

:o thats so cute!!! my sister had one of them, her's was reeally evil! lol! as long as you can get them used to being handeled, they dont bite or anything! although, watch our for the poop! hehe!

thanx 4 all ur advice :) i got em yday, i found out that although my cage seems to fit 3 of these miniture hamsters quite fine it is not appropriate, as if they dont have enough space they will eventually kill eachother :(
im off to get a bigger tank today., im trying to get em used to be huddled, but they are so fast and nimble i have no chjance of catching them!!!!! bess xx

yer, you want to be carefull, i know some male hamster's do kill each other for room! i used to have 3 hamsters when i was little. they were called Tilly, Tom and Tiny after the tot's tv show! hehe. they all killed each other :o just i didn't know at the time!

i myself have never had hamsters but i have had a few dogs when i was little, my parents have a bird i never really liked him tho he's just to loud. well good luck with the hamsters boopsie-cola and i hope they don't kill each other.

I also tried to raise Beta Fish. No...no...no!! They too are fighters (killers). I had no idea that they would kill each other...but they did. I learned later...that you have to keep them in separate waters...if you want them to survive.

I don't think it matters if they are girl and girl and boy and boy. They kill!

Gee the male hamsters sound just like male rabbits... they don't like living together either.

My son has a Beta fish. He like him does not really have to worry much about him as long as he feeds him every day. He named him Spike after one of the dinosaurs on "Land Before Time"! I though it was a cute name. His first pet. Of course I clean the water an bowl till he is old enough!

my hamsters are doing just fine, i picked up three and names them choko chip and cookie :)
cookie is slightly smaller then the other two and is a lot nicer and friendlier,
my hamsters havent killed eachother although choko and chip have been bullying poor litle cookie!
at the begginin they avoided him and didnt let him play with them even though he followed them around everywehere hoping theyd let him join in,
one day i noticed a rash on cookies bottom and took him to the vet, turns out it wasnt a rash the other two had been attacking pooor cookie!
iv seperated him from the other two, but he just spends all his time staring into choko and cookies tank wishing he was playing with them
cookies bite heeled and when it was time to place him back with his two brothers, within 10 minutes he had bn bitten again! now he cant b placed with the mean choko and cookie, and is destined to live his life as a lonly hamster in his small cage all alone!
poor cookie! now ders a sad hamster storie if i ever did hear 1 :(
