whats the most unusual item that you have with BB on it?

I dont think i really have anything unusual but as you can get just about anything - i thought some people might have something to share.

I don't have unusual things either. It's just the normal figurines, t-shirts and bags...

IMO...
My wooden wall plaques are unusual. They are about 18 inches tall and about 12 to 14 inches across. They have great colors and have a high tech...dried clear coating. They are WOOD...not paper collections inside of a glass frame. These will last forever. THe good thing about these...is that I have a desk (book) calendar (BB) and it has a different feature of her dressed from baseball uniforms to high-classed-head-turning-outfits...for every month (for 16 months). Very unusual. As I turn the page for the dates in the month...there she is...all dolled up. I even have her on horseback...and working out in the gym...stepping out on the town in an elegant green gown with this HUGE white furry collar and hat.
All I do is make a color copy of the one I favor and give it to the artist and he makes a larger replica of the picture...out of wood. It's like ply board and he uses a skill saw and told me that he actually paints them hinmself. Now my wall is full of BB wooden plaques. Dressed for all ocasions.

Someone gave me a BB (motorcycle) eye-glass case the other day and a bumper sticker. Have you Boopers seen the BB decal that you apply to your car window?? It's cute 2!

wow neckless sounds cool.

well i don't have anything unusual but so far my best item i think is my talking betty bottle opener it's red and it's so cute, it was given to me by aome friends last yr on my birthday.

i still haven't opened it but sometimes i push the plastic tip that has the metal piece to make it talk and it just makes me smile so much.

i guess one of the unsual things i've seen is a parkin sign that someone had at my friends work it was about the same size as one of those handykapped signs thats on the shorter poles but it was betty and it said somethin like "betty boop parking only" or somethin to that efect it was so cute i told my friend that if it came up missin one day tell her i haven't seen it :D

Aww. BBooper. That sounds really cool! What kind of art work did you create from old BB T-shirts? I bet that rag-doll is unique too!

BBooper
07-05-2004, 02:14 PM
i cut the images off the BB t-shirts first (th t-shirts were old and didn't fit me anymore, so i thought i'd put them to good use ;)). then i got a window sticker my someone at my mum's work made for me at work to test out the new machine they got in the factory :P i first of all stuck the window sticker on the glass of the frame and then put the cut outs under the glass. and my rag doll i made when i was 10 years old. hehe!

great talent there BBooper. And some fab ideas mind if i pinch them??

my collection has nothing unusual really in it. But i'm working on it. I should say nothing unusual to other collectors my friends think they are all unusual and can't believe the stuff i have never mind the things i say you can get (& that i want)

N'less those wooden plaques sound gorgeous. How many do you have now.

I agree with the statement that our collective collections would certainly be a site WOW.

Mel...What does ta muchly mean? Is it short for thank you?

Melissa Jones
07-07-2004, 08:49 PM
thanks very much

when teaching toddlers to talk and use manners we Aussies (maybe others?) have a very bad habit of teaching them slang - then finding we have to re-teach them the correct words later. Bu basically we teach them to say "ta" for thankyou & please to start with. so hence "ta muchly" thanks very much.

In my daily travels, I often find little BETTY items. I just found gel writing pens(.99) ea. A cell phone strap with two Betty charms
(1.99) and even a 3 pack of Betty Boop tissue packs (1.49).

In my area we have a lot of 99 cent stores as well as little shops with stuff you cant find anywhere else.
If any of my fellow Boopers want any of these items I would be glad to send them. leboop448@yahoo.com

LOL Melis, Biker.....Think about this....they fit yet I am pregnant!!:)

Kool Mirror!! I wish I had one!! There is a lot I do not have... Right now I am poor and I can not buy anything at all. I have to wait to buy food...

I can't wait to get a job after the baby is 6 wks old... Then the money situation will be better!!

Bikerbettyboop
07-09-2004, 04:05 PM
Hi Candles... I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling poor during this pregnancy ... we've really become a nation of working moms haven't we? I remember back in the 50's... hardly any moms worked.. they all stayed home and took care of the kids and house etc.... those were the days weren't they? And I remember having to get a job right after my son was born in 1970 so that we could pay bills... so guess things haven't changed since the 70's huh?

take care of yourselves first and worry about your Betty collection later on when you're more financially able. There will always be things you can add to your collection but you gotta eat!!

Candlesnboop
07-09-2004, 04:14 PM
;) well not totally poor my hubby is working... He takes care of the house payment car payment and food an whatever else we need!!!.. I have a good man to take care of me an our one and a half kids!:)

Bikerbettyboop
07-09-2004, 04:22 PM
Oh I know that you're not totally poor but I do remember how much it helped (and still helps today) to have a second income from the wife. I know that Russ is a great man and a good provider and a wonderful husband and father.

Have you thought about doing any handcraft projects or sewing projects and selling them on eBay to generate a few extra $$?

i would love to have one, livin with all males i need one i have comforters that have seems that need fixing, i have pands and shorts that need fixing right in the middle ;) and doin all that by hand takes alot of time that i just don't have and it would be so much faster and easier to be able to plug in the machine and fix everything all at once and be done with it.

It is an Emu egg and it is handcarved and painted and has BB doing the famous Marilyn pose. It is rather neat looking.

Hey BBfan
One of my students at school told me that her father does the most beautiful work with a skilled hand saw and a piece of thin wood and paint.
Girl...I had her to bring him over to the school and he brought some of his work. Talk about beautiful. I had never seen anything like it. I asked if he could make Betty Boops pics and he told me all he needed was a picture of her that he could keep. So I have this book calendar that sits on my desk. It has loads of BB pictures in all sorts of cute attire. I just pick them out, he enlarges them and copies it onto a piece of wood (in the rough)...then he uses some type of high gloss paints and finishes it off.
They are my masterpieces. WHen people come to my house...they STOP right there and admire that wall.
I love it to bits!

bettyboopfan
09-20-2004, 10:33 AM
