hi leonard, wondering if u cud help.
because i live in the uk and order most of my valuble collectable porcelain bb items from the usa i can always garantee that something will arrive broken,
i dont know if uv seen my collection it in the members show case section under the thread "i wanna show off my collection too!" if u take a peek ul relise i have bought quite a few full sets of porcelain items in bulk of about 12-16 and so am never surprised when 3-5 of these items arrive with minor breaks,
lukily all the breaks have been minor and clean cuts, eg arm broken off but can be glued back perfectly and not even look like it has ever been damaged, will this reduce the value of my items dramaticly in the future??? thanx, bess xxx

Hi Bess,
Broken items are indeed a heartbreak. As with any collectible item, anything other than "mint" detracts from the value. In general, any defect to an item takes ten to ninety percent off its value; but, with rare and scarce items, people will pay top dollar if it is something they want. This is one reason price guides are just that - guides - and not the ultimate word.

HI Boopsie... I was saddened to hear that some of your orders from the US arrive broken. I'm surprised that the seller doesn't send you a replacement. I believe that broken or damaged shipments are unacceptable and I think you should be covered by the shippers.

Hi Gina,
I had a difficult time finding your question, I thought I had lost it! Anyway, the value of the doll quilt depends on several factors, mainly condition of the cloth and stuffing, and clarity of image. As far as value, I have seen these in the $50 to $200 range.
If you want to sell yours, the best exposure is with an on-line auction. I know there are collectible shows in NYC, but your chances of finding someone who wants this item is slim. If you know of someone who has an antique store, that might also be an option.

yeh i agree it should be the shippers responsibility to ensure items arrive in perfect condition, but i dont get too upset as i understand they have to travel a long way, id normally ask for a replacement if i was to recieve a damaged item but with most the betty stuff i buy the items are rare and a one off to the seller, guess im used to it ..

Are there any items here in the USA? All I see are 1's from the UK.
