Cell phone cameras have created privacy concerns. A growing number of athletic clubs are making locker rooms off-limits to all cell phones.
It generates fines and up to a year in prison for anyone caught taking covert pictures in locker rooms, bedrooms and other places where people expect privacy.
Some U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeal already ban cell phones outright, collecting them at the door for return later. Some courtrooms allow cell phones only if they are turned off, but confiscate camera phones, according to the United States Marshals Service, which protects the nation's federal courthouses.

Well...my cell phone is just plain. It only has a screen saver...which is a rose. One of my colleagues sets his cell phone
camera when he is alone (in conference) with female students...for protective purposes only.

Times are getting tougher!

cell phone cameras also have use in solving things. There was thins guy who wanted to talk a young girl into his car, with bad meanings, and she pretended she had an sms and she took his pic and she went over to the police how arrested him. very clever!

I agree. That was very beneficial to her. It has it advantages as well as disadvantages.

I saw something on television where a guy was using his CPCam to peek under girls dresses and was using the pics on line to make $$$.

Wondering...
will they be banned? will modern technology be able to move forward?

BBooper...where you live...are cell phones disallowed as far as use...when driving a vehicle?

BBooper

yes, you now have to have a car kit to your your phone in the car, especially if you are the driver! other wise its illegal. I know camera phones are also banned from sports complexes to ensure child safety.

"I know camera phones are also banned from sports complexes to ensure child safety."

Abso-too-te-lute-ly. Children---especially smaller ones are so vulnerable.

Here in Arizona it is illegal to talk on a cell phone while you're driving. I'm not crazy about the camera phones... I personally don't have one but my nephew and his wife have one and they love them... but they're young and into all the new technology.

Neckless
06-08-2004, 10:49 PM
Yeah...Modern technology...heheheh...gotta love it!
True tho...it's so easy for drivers to get distracted.

BBooper
06-09-2004, 12:34 PM
yup, it's became illegal here too, i think its because of the increas in car accidents caused by them.

Cell phones are really convenient but they can be disruptive. I've tried to use my phone while driving and once I realized the futility of it I gave up that idea and now only use it when I'm out of the car. It's much safer that way... for me and everybody else.

driving whilst talking is not illegal here if using handsfree, however "answering" or "making" a call whilst driving is illegal. Go figure. there have even been a couple of cases of Cyclists getting fined for using their phones whilst riding. I agree that it is dangerous so i always pull off the road (if able) to answer my phone or just let is ring until i can.

as for camera phones they have their good and bad points. Safety concerns are a problem but the convenience for those unrepeatable special moments is a bonus

i saw on oprah where guys were using them to take pics of women and posting them on the net maybae that was what you all saw. yes i do agree that they are a danger in the wrong hands. My self i only want one because i'm one of those crazy picture moms that love to take pics of my kids when they aren't looking and being them selfs and doin somthin that i think is really cute and it would be easier than carrying a cam around, for myself and my mother and mother - law who live away from us.

I think driving and talking on the phone is illegal pretty much everywhere i know that unless you have an ear piece it is anyway. I've never heard of it being illegal while riding a bike o was that on a motor cycle? I do saw they are conveninte for ppl who have like older cars like i did back in Oregon i had a '89 toyota camery and not very long after i got my cell phone the water heater went out and i had my mom and my kids with me i really think women should carry them. My husband feels better when i have one cause he can get a hold of me and i can get a hold of him when needed, mine came in handy more than once because of my car, but it is a good idea for any reason especialy if you have children for the school to get a hold of you while out running arrons or for any reason. but camera phones in the wrong hands are a scary thing.

Maybe it's legal in Idaho because your state probably isn't as populated as some of the other states... or maybe you just have better drivers than other states... lol!!

Well...cell phones can be a distraction...
But!!! So are animals riding right in the drivers lap!

boopcrazy
07-11-2004, 01:08 AM
so true neckless i don't see how ppl can drive with their pets right in their laps. I would never do that why not have your small child in your lap in that case.

Neckless
07-11-2004, 02:38 PM
I love the pets too...but they don't ride in my car. Drooling everywhere. Oh...No!!!!
But yeah...I see people with the dog at the wheel. It's very distracting.

Women change diapers and ****** feed and comb hair (all while driving) on their way to work. I read about an accident that killed a child because mommy was distracted with the cell phone and trying to discipline one of the kiddies in the rear seat. I think the dog was on board too. Way...tooo...much!

(hehehe) Yeah...a womans' gotta have her phone.

melisa73074
07-13-2004, 01:00 PM
It was seized because you cant take pictures in court so to protect the court the officers take anything that can take a pic.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/19/19_2_14.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_1_12.gif' border=0></a>

oh that sounds awful! Hope you can get it back.

About a year ago, my sis and her husband went riding on their horses out into the mountains and when they got home, they discovered that her husband had lost the cell phone..... of course they never found it til the other day.... some one found it and turned it into the cell phone company!! Of course it was in pretty bad shape but it was found almost a year later... wow.. huh?

I have a camera phone and bearly use it really. Sometimes I take pictures of things I am interested in so that I dont forget what it looks like. But it is true pictures have been taken and used on the internet and that's wrong but not everyone should have to pay for what others are doing.

Bikerbettyboop
07-19-2005, 11:59 AM
Because we talk either in person or by email or by land lines... we really got the cell phones for emergencies... like when we travel or are on our motorcycles.... so they don't get used much. My mom and sister live next door to me and we communicate by email or instant messenger with most of our out of town family members and friends...

It is not the camera phone that is the problem, but the person behind the phone! It is just like owning a gun, the bad guy is the one who uses it wrong! I have a camera phone and would never think about using it for perverted things! I take pictures of all my babies so that I have something to look at as screen savers for my personal use!
